Four Seas has used the Taylor whip cream machine for three summers now, and couldn’t be happier with the equipment or the Taylor people. We are just concluding our 22nd season in business. Back in 1982 we started as a purely homemeade ice cream store on Cape Cod. However, ten years ago we noticed the increased popularity of soft serve ice cream and so in order to maintain our competitive edge we contacted Taylor Freezer of New England.
Fortunately, the first year we went into the soft serve business was also the first year of the Flavor Burst machine. This machine gave us a variety of flavors to offer and within a year our overall business increased dramatically. It opened up a whole new market to us without jeopardizing our core homemade ice cream sales.
Since then, we have upgraded to a peristaltic pressurized Taylor Model 8756 machine which has worked efficiently and virtually problem free.
We have been extremely satisfied with Bob Gallagher, our salesman and the entire Taylor support staff.

Taylor provides a wide variety of equipment options. The Taylor model 8756 also is used for making our specialty ice cream cakes in addition to our signature cones and ice cream sandwiches.
We’ve only had the Flavor Burst system in the store for 2 ½ months but the response has been great. Every one loves the new flavors. They like the flavor options and love the taste. Even the adults are ordering the cotton candy. We will be adding flavors for the fall season. The ability to change flavors with the seasons is very beneficial since we’re open year round.
My representative has been more than helpful. They (Taylor) are quick to send parts etc. and the service is dependable and timely.

Our new Taylor Model 8756 soft serve machine and Flavor Burst unit have many pros; the product is very consistent, with a better texture than our Coldelite. The Flavor Burst has definitely improved soft serve sales and the point of sale merchandise is really great too.
Since adding the Flavor Burst, we find we’re selling more soft serve, which has a better profit margin over the hard ice cream. The kids really love it.
Taylor’s customer service has been great, everyone involved from the salesmen to repairmen, to receptionists have been very helpful and friendly. All (minor) problems have been handled swiftly and efficiently.

We purchased an established ice cream business in 2003. The next year upgraded one of our three Taylor machines, then upgraded our Flavorburst and a few years ago, added the Razzle, aka a Brook Blast!
Customers have bragged about our soft serve. Many customers are even addicted! As we all know, good soft serve is not just the mix, but the love we provide for our machines. Without properly sanitizing on a weekly basis, I don’t know if our vanilla cone with chocolate dip would be as popular as it is!! Then we have the Razzle (or Blast as we call it). We went from barely selling 25 lbs of crushed Oreos the first year to selling over 5 times as much this year! Makes us wonder how we ever survived without it!
We are fortunate to be only the next town over from Taylor New England. The Service and Parts departments have been extremely helpful the past 8 years.

Near the end of 1988 we negotiated to purchase a 50 year old seasonal ice cream and food business on Martha’s Vineyard which had a Taylor heat treatment machine and a small competitor’s machine. We quickly learned the advantages of doing business with Taylor Freezer of New England. When we remodeled, the winter of 2001-2002, we purchased a new Taylor Model 8756 and have also added two more Taylor machines over the years. I believe that you should start with the best machine possible but, regardless how good the machine is, some day it will break and how much time it takes to resume normal operations is the key to providing the public with service and making a profit or losing customers and income. With the increased difficulty of being on an Island and needing service, a quality machine, a company with excellent service technicians and parts availability is a must. From the Owner to the Sales Staff to the on the road Service Technicians this Company provides the responsive assistance that is needed to keep you selling product in what often is a short window opportunity in a seasonal location. As I close down another season, I would like to thank Taylor Freezer of New England, and most importantly Eddie Herbert for providing the leadership that assists us to have successful season.

I bought Truly Yogurt in 1992. The sales have grown over the years and now Truly Yogurt has a cult following from Wellesley and the surrounding towns. The store space is small so to utilize the space most effectively there is room for only two big machines. That is why I bought the Flavor Burst machine. It gives you eight extra flavors in a 10″ area. Off of one machine I have both sides, plus twist, plus 8 additional flavors.
I recently replaced my original Taylor Model 8756 with a new pressurized peristaltic 8756 machine. The old machines were great, but the new ones are fantastic. The new technology is amazing; the product is extremely consistent, profits are great because product overrun is high and you can control the overrun adjustments. The best part is that they are extremely easy to clean vs. the old one, which took double the time. The new machine only needs an adjustment once in a while.
Bob Gallagher, my sales rep at that time, couldn’t have been more helpful. He took time to explain the ins and outs of the new machines, worked with me on financing and delivery, to ensure it made sense for my business. Taylor delivered on all their promises. The service department at Taylor is responsive and knowledgeable.
